Mountain Yosemite Elopement

Nadia + Michael

What can be said about my time with these two souls? I can talk for hours about the staggering beauty of Yosemite National Park in the fall. About its waterfalls and cliffs, storied forests and technicolor moss. The way the sunset changes by the minute, as if constantly desperate for your attention. But that wouldn’t come close to the story that impacted me that week. It was sheer love and determination between two kind people who flew in the face of convention, laughed at countless setbacks and held fast to one another at every unexpected turn. Nadia and Michael’s love is one we can all look upon for example.

Theirs was a two-part wedding of sorts. The slow, lovely morning they spent drinking coffee and reading letters from home was intended to be their one and only wedding day in the redwoods. After meeting with the musicians Nadia surprised Michael with and finding the most lovely spot in the forest…they both promptly realized they had forgotten their hand written vows. They of course embraced this chance to speak traditional vows and exchange rings, laughing and dancing in the sunlight with promises of written vows the next morning at sunrise. Two mountain Yosemite elopements for the price of one – not what was expected, but so much more than hoped.

Yosemite was lovely, but learning to embrace life’s adventures is even more beautiful.
