Tarot Inspired Joshua Tree Elopement

After 11 years together, Liliana and Braden eloped in the California desert they love so much. I was humbled to be asked to be one of the very few there to witness as the sun set over the mountains in Joshua Tree National Park and they agreed to be partners in this life. 

The day started with tequila and records, slow dancing before Liliana donned a dress she had already owned for years. Setting intentions, they pulled the oracle cards “Love” and “Surrender” without even stacking the deck. We then ventured to the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum for the very first time and – if you haven’t visited his work, you should – I naturally fell in love. We took our time exploring the nooks and textures of the boulders in Joshua Tree before finding an intimate place to watch the sun set. A bottle of champagne and some tickets to a concert at Pappy and Harriets was a fitting reception. 

Elopements are my favorite because of all of the opportunities to connect. Both to nature, each other – heck even to vibrations that are higher than ourselves. Sometimes the slow, intimate moments are the biggest.
